Christmas for Inmate Children

The Christian Jail Ministry (CJM) Christmas for Inmate Children program provides presents, clothes, school supplies, and other things for children of prisoners at the Howard County Detention Center (HCDC) in Jessup, MD. This program originated in the early 1990s and has been led mainly by several members of the CJM Board.  During the weeks leading up to Christmas, HCDC inmates are given an opportunity to request that their children be part of the CJM Christmas for Inmate Children program. People for churches involved in this program would collect items for the children and then deliver them to the children's homes shortly before Christmas. 

Click here to see a thank you note from an inmate father who appreciated the gifts given to his two daughters. They were among the 88 inmate children to whom we ministered in 2000.

For the past several years, 75-125 children were served this way each year. Churches involved in this program in recent years are identified below.
